Barack Obama - Five Reason for Supporting the Democratic Ticket
62Greetings My Fellow Obama Supporters!
We're in the final days of Barack Obama's and Joe Biden's campaign for the presidency. I have done a lot of thinking over the past few days and here are my final reasons for voting for the Obama-Biden ticket:
1) I just don't see anything new coming from McCain and Palin. They keep saying that they will change things in Washington that that they're a team of "two mavericks" but I just don't see it happening, especially when McCain's record proves that he voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time!
2) Obama truely inspires. He is encouraging us as citizens to be the best possible people that we can be. He has done this in his lifetime and certainly leads by example. For the first time in my life I'm truely inspired to do something for my country.
3) Turn off the TV message. This is very powerful indeed. I cannot count the number of times he has encouraged parents to turn off the TV. Basically what he's saying is to quit letting your brain rot! Note, Obama says this in reference to "your kids" to allow them to get homework done. Basically, what he wants is a nation of thinkers and doers. In the long run this will put our nation back on a path of forward momentum.
4) I simply don't believe he's a socialist. He simply wants to lower taxes on the middle class and revert taxes for high net-worth individuals and corporations back to a higher level. This makes sense to me. Allow the majority of Americans to keep and invest their money so that we may improve our lives. He constantly talks about American competitiveness. How can this be called socialist?
5) Last and finally, Obama simply is change. He's new. He has introduced a ton of new and inspiring ideas to the American electorat. Besides eight years under Clinton I've spent most of my life under the Bushes. I have seen my country deteriorate to a low level that nobody before could have imagined. I'm not convinced that the McCain-Palin ticket will bring change. These are just slogans they use to get in office because they don't have any other ideas.

I have to chime in here too. I feel real bad for the folks that voted for him because now they are hearing the other side of him that many did not hear when they heard the campaign. I tried to tell folks and they were so excited that a man of color would be able to lead us. My black friends pulled away slightly from me because they knew I thought him to be socialistic in nature. I had heard old interviews of him and he seemed radical to me. I had hoped in years past that Allen Keys would be able to get the nomination but the first black guy was Mr. Obama. I pray for him every day. I don't want America to change the way he wants it to.
David, I meant no disrespect mentioning our president's race. I want my president to make the right decisions too. It's just that I see him leading in a way that disturbs me. As you can tell I am a Christian conservative. President Obama is going left and very left. Not even moderate. That's why I pray for the man who leads us. I hope I have not upset you because I believe you love this country too. So good wishes to you my friend.
Amen brother. Any president has so much burden on his shoulders. I don't know why anyone would want the job.

These days it seems like he is leaning towards socialism and i have not seen much change, accept in the wrong direction, such as increasing the national debt.
oh well, he was an inspiring speaker in his campaigns
