While I am not an online over-night millionaire I have reached a level of making several multiples my daily cost of living and am now earning much more than when I was working in the corporate rat race.
eBay pays you to send visitors their site who sign up and buy products
For now my income mainly comes from two sources: eBay Partner Network (EPN), which is eBay's affiliate program and Google AdSense (those little Google ad boxes that you see in websites). eBay's affiliate program works like this: You make websites with links into eBay. If somebody clicks through your link you get a cut (I believe ~50% of the seller's fees) and get paid a much more attractive sum of money when somebody signs up and buys something on eBay after clicking through one of your links.
As an EPN affiliate you'll probably have to learn to make your own websites
What's going on now is that eBay seems to be shifting its business model where its affiliate sales people now have to build their own websites and can NOLONGER link to eBay from sites they DO NOT OWN AND CONTROL. There has been a lot of chat in the forums and blogisphere about this hot topic.
I have been making my own eBay Partner Network websites with success for 9 months now
Over the past 9 months I have been working non-stop making MY OWN eBay partner websites. While the whole process seems extremely daunting at first after a while you'll get the hang of it. The key skills that you'll have to pick up are 1) Learning to use Wordpress (many, many video tutorials on that on YouTube - including my own) and 2) Learning to drive traffic to your website (I go into that subject A LOT in my hubs here on hubpages).

A quick note about my online ethics and standards. When I first started making money online I watched TONS (ok, in the 100s!!!!) of YouTube videos and read lots of blog articles of people pitching how they can teach you to "make money online". Some of the people came across as sincere and others were clearly full of SH*T. Based on my way of thinking I listen to people who offer true intellectual and practical tips and knowledge and don't offer me some stupid product for $97 telling me I can put the darn thing on autopilot and it'll make me money in my sleep - YEAH RIGHT!
Building an eBay Niche Store - phpBay Pro versus BANS - phpBay WINS!!!
Anyways, back to the topic. To make your own eBay Partner Network (EPN) Niche Store websites you basically have two main tools you can use. The first one is BANS, or Build A Niche Store. The advantage to that one is that it's quick and easy to build the stores and a 6th grader could learn to do it in 1 hour. It also comes with many pre-set templates. The DISADVANTAGE is that Google does not like BANS sites and it's nearly impossible to get them indexed. So, no Google indexing = no money for you. Furthermore, they almost all look the same with their standard templates that really only let you manipulate the color schemes.
phpBay Pro is very easy to use after you make one or two websites
So, I use a tool called a premium Wordpress plugin called phpBay pro. It was developed by a man named Wade Wells who takes great pride in his product. Mr. Wells is accessable over e-mail and does indeed answer questions. As a customer of phpBay pro, however, the onus is on you to READ HIS WONDERFUL PDF MANUAL and to read the posts on his forum which answer almost all of the question you might have. I will admit the very first time you download phpBay pro you might feel confused - as you would with any online product. But, once you get it down (just takes one or two sites and you'll get it) you can build new sites relatively fast. With phpBay pro you can make an unlimited am out of eBay niche store websites. And, another advantage is that you can use ANY of the thousands of fr*eee Wordpress themes and plugins.
You too are in a GREAT position to make money online now!

I agree David, in fact I wrote a Hub about BANS vs phpBay. I tried BANS and just couldn't feel good about it. It seems to encourage poor content, so I'm not surprised that Google slapped them!
I didn't find starting my Wordpress site daunting at all - well, I did before I started it, but I got the site up and running in half a day, phpBay included. Of course, I've tweaked it a heck of a lot since, but it was functional from Day 1 - and if I can do that, with no web experience other than HubPages, anyone can!
Dawei, how long does the cookie last when someone uses your link? Are you paid through paypal? What is the payment cycle?

Sounds like a good and legit source of income, i'm still on the early stages of online marketing, but as soon as i have a decent webhost i'll surely invest in this as it seems to be on the rise theses days .

pisco - so far i've had great luck with bluehost. they've answered all my questions and never rushed me off the phone. and, i've never waited on hold too long. i'm sure the guys over at hostgator are good too - it's really up to u. if u decide to go w/bluehost thru my link i'd be glad to answer any questions u might have.

hi julie-ann - it would not be hard. to use phpbay pro the biggest hurdle for all newbies (including myself when i started last summer) was learning to upload the files to my host w/filezilla. so, i did that in my tutorial to help potential buyers. after one or two sites it's smooth sailing. and, the developer is open to questions as long as u do ur part reading his manual. on his site u'll see several other stores that people made. thanks! david

They are full with links and almost empty ,i have heard that it is almost impossible to promote them.

hi shai77 - you can still do well with these sites but you MUST add sufficient content to your pages. otherwise u'll get sandboxed.

Hi, David! Seems like it's too late for me to discover your site. I have bought BANS before discovering your Hub. Btw, in one of their technical manual, there is also a discussion in combining BANS and phpBayPro, though. You mentioned that sites created with BANS get slapped by Google. I don't know, but, one of their example site (i.e. BladeGolfIrons.com)is ranked #1 in Google search.
By the way, I am interested to purchase phpBay Pro too and would like to prove your words that it is a viable tool to earn money through EPN.
